Giving Thanks 2015

Thankful

Thanksgiving has come and gone. It’s my favorite holiday of the year…except maybe for Halloween. Damn, I love a good haunted house!! This year I have a lot to be be grateful and give thanks for. When I first started reading the Choose Yourself books and then started making lists, I couldn’t have imagined this is where I’d be in just 5 short months. So as I prepare to embark on my newest journey, I want to publically give thanks for the blessings in my life:

Thank you to the women in my life. Thank you to my grandmother Wanda for loving me and showing me my purpose when I was just a child. Thank you to my ex-wife Melissa. You’ve given me the greatest gift I could ever want in our daughter as well as shown me what it takes for a successful relationship. Thank you to another ex Amy for showing me what kind of father I wanted to be and for helping me to unlock it. Thank you Bianca for reminding me that we are never too old to chase down our dreams.

Thank you to the mentors in my life. Obviously, I could have never reached where I am today without you. Thank you Major’s West and Korynta for taking me under your wing as a young Marine and showing me the way. Thank you Jim, Darren, and Tony (details of which can be found here.)

Thank you Patty for being my coach and keeping me moving forward at all costs.

Thank you my friends for caring and for your neverending support and encouragement. It means the world to me as I move on to this next phase. Thank you Lindsey, Tana, and Keith.

Thank you Cisco, SAIC, and Riverbed. Over the past decade plus a few you have given me and my family an amazing quality of life. Without you I would have never been able to attend the events, meet the people, and expanded my heart, mind, and spirit.

Thank you to my family. Everyone from my grandparents, to my parents, to my cousins, to my daughter. All of you are the rocks and the foundations of all I can ever hope to become.

Thank you CrossFit. You’re fun, you keep me young, and you make me sweat like no other. You help me feel like an athlete.

Thank you Kaplan. Thank you for making the materials and hosting the classes that are the gateway to the rest of my life.

Thank you Internet. You keep us all connected in ways I never thought possible. And you make Calculus a lot easier too!!

Thank you Amazon. Because of you, I didn’t venture out on Black Friday. I get the things I want/need delivered right to my house and I never have to go store to store. Thank you Prime and thank you Alexa. You wake me up every morning and keep me well informed.

If you’re still reading this, um… well.. thank you. Clearly we know each other and you’re just checking out my terrible grammer. But do yourself this favor: What are 3 things or people that you could truly be grateful for?

Be amazing,

Jason
